![]() I love using layers ( my paintings have always been layered, with glazes and scratching through etc) so it suits the way I think. I also gave them a page of their own Life with Kittens on fb If you look at my fb page I”ve shown replays of the drawings, a useful tool in Procreate. Cartoons done from memory, no photos involved as I can get more animation and narrative in a cartoon. I can do these quickly, without getting out paints and change things easily as I go while incidents are fresh in my mind. ![]() I’m interested in what I can do with it creatively, using its different potential – so some digital paintings and since gaining 2 furry lodgers 4 months ago, a whole series about the mischief the kittens get up to. I use Procreate and a few others on the iPad Pro 12.9. I’m drawing more, simply because I can carry it with me wherever I go, it’s much lighter and easier than even my laptop. I think the best think about the working on a tablet, is that it is easy to pick up anywhere, when you are waiting to get the car repaired, or a medical appt, or even your easy chair at home. ![]() It hasn’t been updated for Version 5 yet, but 5 is out less than a month so hopefully, that will be updated soon. There are lots of Youtube video tutorials, and a good manual by the developer that can be downloaded free. Procreate seems to be preferred by professionals, and there are so many brushes that are made for it, plus in this new version, you can download and import Photoshop brushes. There are many good drawing apps for iPad, all of which are pretty cheap, (under $20) and Sketchbook is free, so it’s easy to try a few and see which you prefer. I’m now using primarily Procreate on iPad, primarily because I’m teaching it locally. The iPad with touch sensitivity and the Apple Pencil has been a game changer. I worked in Photoshop and ArtRage on a desktop computer for many years.
